I know that after the birth of both of my girls, I struggled to accept the changes that had happened to my body. I was so used to feeling fit, strong and toned. I really struggled when I felt slow, heavy and floppy.
I knew logically, that all the changes that had occurred to my body were the result of two beautiful baby girls and very healthy pregnancies and for that – I felt blessed.
But that didn’t mean that I didn’t want to look good again, that I didn’t want to be able to move my body and feel fit and strong, that I was ready to give up a healthy and active lifestyle. I still believe that I am capable of achieving anything I can put my mind to – it is just that I have different priorities now.
I wanted to create a way of helping new mums, any mum or mum-to-be, in fact, to build a beautiful fit and strong body that they could be proud of. Not to try and re-gain their old body, but to feel confident and happy in their new body, to appreciate all the amazing things your body is capable of and to celebrate being able to live a lifestyle that makes you feel good – not one that is full of pressure and discipline.
I am Kimmy Smith. I have played elite netball for the NSW Swifts and have been a member of the Australian Diamonds Squad. I have also worked as a corporate lawyer. Now I am a qualified yoga teacher specialising in pre and post natal yoga, a Barre instructor and post natal fitness expert.
I am a mother of two beautiful girls, Allegra and Samara who were born in 2013 and 2015 and wife to my wonderful + supportive husband Ryan. Ryan and I have been together for over 17 years! We started dating in year 11 in high school and we have been together ever since! He is such a huge support for me and I am so lucky to have his love and guidance!
I just love being a Mum and my little fam bam. It’s hard work too, as every Mum knows. But it just brings me so much joy and love.
Trying to sum yourself up in a few paragraphs is hard, but I wanted to give you an insight into what makes me, me. I love yoga. I love dancing in the living room with my girls. I love hip hop dancing and rap (neither of which I am any good at), I love books and reading and learning and I love business. Most of all I love moving my body and eating beautiful, clean food.
I am part of the growing community of Mum’s who want to support other Mum’s and help to make this time of our lives as special and amazing as possible.
I love being fit, happy and healthy. It is in my blood and I want to share my passion with you.
I have created positive workouts that will energise you, not exhaust you. I share health and wellness tips that will help you to be proud of your body and to live your healthiest life, without a side of guilt.
These workouts and wellness tips are designed with mums in mind. They aren’t about getting a six pack or being able to deadlift 100kgs. They are about moving your body, feeling good within your skin and nourishing yourself with healthy foods and thoughts.
They are for the busy mum who might just have 15 minutes to herself each day.
They are for the health conscious mum who still wants to make her health a priority.
They are for the fitness mum who loves the endorphin rush and wants to continue to challenge herself.
